Once upon a time, a man wanted to become a monk, so he traveled to a monastery to talk to the head monk.

The head monk says that to become a monk, you must take a vow of silence and be allowed to speak only two words per year.

The man thought about it for a while and agreed to become a monk.

After being there one year, the monk is summoned to the head monk to speak his two words.

The head monk asks him, what are your two words?

The monk replies, “Food cold.”

The head monk nods his head and sends the monk on his way.

Another year goes by, and the head monk summons the monk for another two words.

The head monk asks him, what are your two words?

The monk says, “Bed hard.”

The head monk nods his head and sends the monk on his way.

Another year goes by, and the head monk summons the monk for another two words.

The head monk asks him, what are your two words?

The monk says, “I quit.”

The head monk replies. It doesn’t surprise me; you’ve been complaining ever since you got here!

The moral of the story is that no matter how bad things get, don’t quit!

There will be times when everything is an uphill battle. You have to somehow get through it.

Rather than complain, take action and see what you can do about your situation.

I love this saying – “There are seldom, if ever, any hopeless situations, but there are many people who lose hope in the face of some situations.”

Remember, successful people do what unsuccessful people are not willing to do.

Recap,

“Food Cold”.

“Bed Hard”.

“Don’t Quit”.
